Hmmm. Since my last update, I've had swine flu. That sucked. But other stuff didn't.
I went to see my first Roller Derby bout. It was in London and it was pretty awesome. It was my team Birmingham Blitz Dames vs London Rockin Rollers. We lost, but it was still fucking awesome. I love roller derby so much. It's not like other shitty sports. And not like other things where lots of girls get together and make a bitch fest. There's a real sort of camaraderie about the whole thing and if you're a roller girl you're pretty much liked by all roller girls, regardless. Anyway it was awesome to watch.

Hand slapping at the end of the bout :)
I took my Basic Skills test for roller derby. I didn't pass :s I still can't do most of that stuff to be honest. I was pretty sad about it at the time but everyone's been really nice to me about it and I have another chance to take it around the end of January. I don't think I'll pass then either. I don't really mind failing again now it's not such a big deal but if I pass then I'll be able to attend on a Tuesday evening as well and I'd love to be able to skate twice a week if I could. I wish I could practise more between now and then but I'm not sure I can. I don't know where I would go to do that :s
I've been hanging out with Sarah and Harriet loads recently. We call ourselves the Brain Trust :P Harriet's moving to Watford on 2nd January and I'm going to be very sad when she goes and the threesome is no more :( Sarah and I have been helping her prepare for the move. She's only 18 and it's her first time away from home you see.
I think Sarah is aaaaawesome. I bullied her into joining roller derby with me too :P
I've been getting a proper little social life lately actually what with Brain Trust and roller derby. Who'd have ever thought I'd actually hang out with girls out of choice? Weird. There's a real social aspect to roler derby too. I've been out a lot with girls from there including to an awesome houseparty the other week.

I'm watching 24 while writing this so sorry if it's all disjointed...
Also, the Captain Horizon boys now have released their EP!!

I'm so fucking proud of them. They had a gig on the day it was launched and it was amazing.
You can download it at amazon and HMV and all kinds of other places. Or if you'd rather just stream it off Spotify then go ahead.
Aaand on 27th December Captain Horizon and roller derby are merged in an amalgamation of my favouritest things. The boys are playing a gig to raise money for my team! Yay! At Subside! Please come along!
I've also been to see Porcupine Tree. That was amazing. And Muse. Lots of captain horizon gigs obviously.
Alex got me a xmas stocking today. That was cute of him. It had cider and chocolates and sweets in :)
Um...
I think that's about it for now.
