New Years Resolutions for 2010...

Blog Dated 1st January 2010




Ok here are the resolutions I made this time last year. I wonder if I kept any of them...



1. Pass my driving test.
Yep!!! I passed 31st January 2009.

2. Get a car.
Also done! I have a black fiat punto :)

3. Exercise.
I did this too :) I did yoga for a bit but it got boring and I did running too but that also got boring and I didn't like doing it when it was raining. I now have a stepper machine thingy that I got for a fiver off ebay which is cool because I can do sort-of running on that and watch episodes of things on my computer at the same time so I don't get bored or worried I'm going to get mugged :P
Oh and I also do roller derby.

4. Treat myself.
I did buy myself an acoustic guitar I suppose. That's about it.

5. Register as an organ donor.
This is done.

6. Go to a country I've not been to before.
None of the plans I has happened so no this didn't happen. It's a shame. Mostly it was because other people changed plans/didn't have any money/whatever and I'm too scared to go abroad entirely on my own just yet.

7. Be more sociable.
I think I just about managed this. I made new friends. I'm still more anti-social than most but less so than I was a year ago.

8. Cook more.
Yeh :D I cook once a week now for the housemates. And it's not always a disaster either! I think I've got quite a long way to go though before I'm able to say 'oh yes I can cook' but I'm getting there.

9. Eat and drink better.
Not really. I do drink more water than before but still not enough. I get nowhere near my 5 portions of fruit and veg per day. If anyone can think of easy/cheap ways I can integrate these into a day where I only tend to eat one meal then please tell me!

9. Eyes and teeth!
Yep I registered at a local dentist and had a filling in August :s I don't have to go back until next August now. I went to book an eye test but apparently I'm not due for one until February.

10. Surprises.
Yep :)


I think overall that was pretty sucessful. This year I'm going to try and stick with small, achieveable things again.

Here goes...

1. Pass basic skills for roller derby
2. Eat and drink better
3. Get new glasses
4. See the Northern Lights
5. Lose a stone
6. Get a hair cut
7. Learn to play 2 new songs on guitar and sing them at the same time

I don't understand how you're surviving on only one meal a day. Which meal? If it's breakfast you can add fruit to your cereal I suppose, but one way to get loads of fresh veg is to make a big cat of soup, with carrots, celery, onion, leek, potato, squash, sweet potato cabbage and anything else you have. I have that for my lunch most days and it's yummy.
